The 2018 Golf Association schedule offers a wide variety of tournaments and formats for all ability levels. This is a great chance to meet new people and have fun while testing your overall golfing ability. All tournaments are subject to change so please call the golf shop or watch news bulletins for more information on each SGA event.
There are 11 points events planned for the SGA this year with a wide variety of formats that include gross and net divisions unless otherwise specified. Points will be awarded throughout the year to participants in each tournament. The ten (10) highest point totals for the year will qualify for the Shootout tournament. *Denotes a point's tournament. To sign up it is important to call by 12:00PM Monday before a Wednesday SGA event. Only a set number of tee times will be available, so it is important to sign up early!

2018 Senior Match Play Championship Information
The 2018 Senior Match Play Championship is open to all members of the Hanging Rock Senior Golf Association. There will be 2 flights.
There is a $25 entry fee for the Match Play. 100% of the entry fee will be applied to 1st through 5th place gift certificates and trophies for 1st and 2nd place.
Format - Single Match Play rules will govern play in the stroking off the lower handicap of the two in the match. (Use the current Senior Association tournament handicap to determine the handicap to be used for each player in the match.) All matches must be played from the Grey tees. Ball may be moved one club length in your own fairway.
All matches must be held at Hanging Rock. A date must be mutually agreed upon by both competitors. It is each player's responsibility to schedule a match with their opponent. If both participants equally tried to schedule the matches but failed to complete the match by the deadline, a coin toss by the professional staff will determine who advances to the next round on the 1st day of the following month.

2018 Senior Golf Association Tournament Information
Each player will be awarded points each tournament based on their net finish. The ten (10) highest point totals for the year will qualify for the Shootout tournament.
ALL TOURNAMENTS AND EVENTS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE!
Points are awarded based on player's individual net score.
All Senior tournaments will have two divisions based on the handicaps of the field for each tournament. All play will be from the grey tees. Tournament prizes will be awarded in Hanging Rock Golf Club gift certificates. Gift certificates may be redeemed for merchandise only.
Points are awarded to each flight independently then all players are combined into the overall points contest.
Points then decrease by increments of 3 until 50. Points then decrease by increments of 2.
*Two day tournaments will result in point being awarded for each day's net score.
Last place points for each tournament are equal to the lowest point total of the flight with the least number of players.
The top 10 Points Leaders at the end of the season qualify for the Association Shoot-Out. The Shoot-Out is a 9 hole shootout based on players' gross scores. The highest score each hole is eliminated. Ties for high score are broken by a chip off. Farthest from the pin in the chip off is eliminated. This continues until the final hole and last two remaining participants. A tie on the final hole will result in a playoff hole to be repeated until one player wins. Prizes are awarded to each player participating in the shootout.
